So I met this guy in my class the other day from Ghana. He is my age and has been pastoring for the past 18 years. We got to talking about his heart and what brought him to KC? He started telling me about his vision to return home and start a missions base similar to IHOP back in Africa.
So I asked him what the prayer movement was like is Africa?
Now before I tell you his response, I want you to envision Don Cheatels (the actor from Hotel Rwanda) talking with a big smile on his face but with a very matter-of-fact tone in his voice.
So Phillip. What's the prayer movement like in Ghana?
Oh, we have to pray. We just moved into a territory formerly ruled by witches and spirit men and they are not very happy with us! We must pray otherwise they will kill us (by demonic power, not with guns & spears) but it has been really good. Because of our prayers the Lord has been doing miracles...you know, like raising the dead and....
This is the point were Rhonda bursts in with a super loud "NO WAY?!?!"
Phillip continues on with his story as if "raising the dead" has the equivalent weight as saying "I saw a great movie last night"; and Rhonda and I just stand there smiling, thinking to ourselves...boy do we have a lot to learn and experience!
